Respect
For neighbors, history, and the work itself.
The Process
A movement framework rooted in the legacy of John Robert Lewis and the soil of the Black Belt — built for development with dignity and determination.

The John Robert Lewis Black Belt Development Process — JRLBDP — is the operational framework behind our work across Selma, Marion, and the surrounding counties of Alabama's Black Belt.
Named in honor of Congressman John Robert Lewis, the Process answers his call to make "good trouble, necessary trouble" by investing in the communities where the work is most needed.

For neighbors, history, and the work itself.
In every program, partnership, and product.
To the people we serve and to one another.
As a daily discipline, not a slogan.
Of those who walked before, and those still to come.
Empowering local leaders and grassroots communities through training and strategic support.
